Mark the Calendar for October 19, 2009London, Ontario, Canada --- General Cleaning Plus marks the day, October 19, 2009, of free home cleaning for women who are undergoing cancer treatment. October is breast cancer awareness month and Martha Harewood of General Cleaning Plus is dedicating all of her employees for one day to cleaning homes to help out women battling any type of cancer.
“Being in business for over 16 years, we have always helped women simplify their lives. We are proud of the services we offer and proud to be able to help out those in need. It is another way that we can reach out to our community”, stated Martha Harewood, owner of General Cleaning Plus.
General Cleaning Plus is working with a non-profit organization, Cleaning For A Reason, which is dedicated to providing free cleaning to cancer patients throughout North America. General Cleaning Plus is now a charter member of this organization so that women can benefit in London, Ontario.
“Being a part of the organization, Cleaning For A Reason, it is a natural fit for our company” stated Martha Harewood.
General Cleaning Plus is dedicated to providing the gift of a clean home not only on October 19th, but throughout the year to women undergoing treatment of cancer. For both residential and business cleanings, 20% of proceeds will go into a fund to assist cancer patients throughout the year.

Each cleaning company registered with the Cleaning For A Reason organization pays a fee to help with the costs of administering the program as well as committing to a number of free cleanings each month. In addition to this commitment, Martha Harewood’s General Cleaning Plus team is dedicating an entire day during October’s Cancer month as her family and close relatives have been affected by cancer.
